                                                       Decluttering

Finding and cataloging handmade craft items.
With my nephew away for the weekend I managed to get into the back bedroom turned storage room and retrieve things for the winter season.  Also had time to photograph more of my handmade creations, most done with no pattern.
This past month also decluttered basement, finding  garbage and many donatable bags and boxes, so glad to rid of things.
Found items that I can give as gifts as I shop all year.
Many hours of leisure time I have spent crocheting, I have
given away more items than have sold.
     Gives me far more pleasure.

All dresses are about a 6 month size done in a double crochet.

Ribbon is strung arms for decoration and also at waistline.

I also crocheted a few slippers or booties in various colours done mostly in a single crochet.

Scarves  galore

More booties in
Ti Cat, black and
gold

So many hats, I have donated dozens.

As many of us enter the chilly season, stay warm, love one another and give Thanks.

 November 3 2013

I have been making cards for a few years now.
Taken a few classes from The Memory Keeper https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Memory-Keeper/129866463432

Some of these cards are from a CD from  http://www.joannasheen.com/craft-supplies/
I do a little sewing, some dresses a made for my great niece, one using a t shirt.
My next project is to try a sewn quilt, good luck to me.
My passion is crocheting, done many project over the years. I must scan more pictures and share. This small throw is designed for my mothers wheelchair.
It is made with a lighter weight yarn and done with several squares in a flower design. Joined with added chain to create a frill and several rows of double crochet to create a border to create larger size.  I also machine stitched material to other side for extra warmth.  This would be a great project to giveaway for seniors and people who need a little warmth and love.
It is a glorious sunny, cold day, praise the Lord and let us be glad in it.

Oct.26 2013                                          LACEY

For two years Lacey lived with my niece's family until her boys being toddlers started chasing her and playing roughly. Till the cat had to defend herself. They asked if we could care for her, and we of course obliged.
Nice, quiet, she took almost a year before she would go stand at mothers feet to be patted.  Once mother had a long hospital stay and when she came
home, she ran to mother as paramedic left, jumping and greeting her return.
She had instinct when mother was ill she would jump and lay on her chest just before a required hospital visit.
She would also like you to stand with her while she ate, kibble, didn't like human food, only cream cheese garlic and herb flavour, a 1/2 tsp before bed, that was her treat.
Lacey would also visit at night wanting company     at night she would jump on the bed and sleep quietly.    When it was cold she even crawled under the covers.      She never got use to the new puppy. Loud and fast Lacey had to run for her life on several occasions .            She lost out on some attention but still got to sleep    with me.
A year ago she developed a lump on her right side and some swelling but it went away after a few months but returned a year later as a leaking lump. After a few weeks she was getting weaker so took her to the veterinary hospital where they operated. Results were lymphoma.  I thought we would have her a few months or a year but ten days later her incision was leaking.     I called and took her back, when they took her back to clean her up the cat cried in shrieking pain.  The doctor came back and said large pocket had developed and would continue. We cannot let them suffer but in love we can end their pain.
                                       RIP     LACEY

October 25 2013

The soup was good, chopped turkey, onions, celery, Ground carrots, green tomatoes, red peppers, garlic, added spices. Enough for a few days.

Spent a nice afternoon out with mother and sister.  We use accessible transportation  for mother as she needs a wheelchair to travel.
Mother is catching some sleeping after medication caused her to spend several hours using her commode last night. Trouble is she has several days of this medication to use.

At ninety two mother has had several hospital over the last few years. The most serious condition she has is Churg Straus Vasculitis. Prednisone was prescribed which also gave her diabetes, which I have to administer insulin. Our family is so blessed to have her with us, she is so precious.

More rain forecast for tomorrow and I am feeling the change by a little extra pain.  Now to play some Facebook games explore Pinterest and relax.

Wednesday October 23 2013

Lovely morning, the drizzle ended and the sun now shining.
Had a lovely afternoon out with my sister. We done lunch and grocery shopping. Bought some needed carrots and celery so today a pot of soup is started. Leftover turkey bones is the base, and the for mentioned carrots, celery, green tomatoes, sage, spices, onions, noodles. Soup is always good especially when the weather is turning cooler.

It was also time to harvest the last of the tomatoes and herbs, still a little clean up to do but limited  time and energy will have to be another day.
The aroma of the soup is nicely filling the room.

Enjoy your day, let the sunshine in.

A short mention on fibromyalgia today.
I wake with sore hands, go to bed with sore hands, all day long with sore hands.  The weather is getting colder, wetter, affects most other pressure points and the amount of pain in feel.
I start to ache when low pressure systems are in my area of living.
Hot water, putting my hands into a freezer,  put my hands into instant pain.

Amitriptyline helps me sleep but leaves me groggy for a couple hours after waking.  I have been taking for close to twenty years.  I am able to awake when my mother needs assistance in the night.
I do feel tired throughout the day and most days I require a short nap to revive, or even to relax the nerves.
I pace myself when cleaning, gardening, cutting grass, snow shoveling  taking several breaks, not to overdue .http://www.herbs-info.com/herbs-for-fibromyalgia.html just to share ideas.

New Beginnings

the start of a creative blog:

I have been crafting for several years, now I feel like sharing pictures and instructions now.

I moved back home to care for my elderly mother after my spouse died. It has been rewarding and educational.

I also have fibromyalgia and thought I could share some of my knowledge.

I also love plants and caring for a small garden, flowers, herbs, and vegetables.
Love animals and like to share pictures.

                                                   ENJOY!
